The research aims to improve treatment results of upper cervical spine injuries by using halo-traction method. Among 397 patients with the trauma of cervical spine division 168 patients suffered from injuries of СI-СII (42,3 %) levels. For the treatment of 84 patients with upper cervical spine division damages with fragments displacing the researchers applied a halo-traction method, based on bipolar extrafocal transosseous stabilization of atlantoaxial complex. Halo-traction is represented in cases of acute polifocal damages of cervical-vertebral trauma, and in treatment of fractures of upper cervical vertebras as well.
